The Omnipotent God

John 3:35 "The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand."

God, the creator and possessor of all things gave to Christ, his heir, all things from creation and salvation to glory and honor on high. The sun that rises to melt the morning frost does so at his command. The earth so vast and full of mystery quakes at the sound of his voice. He holds in the hollow of his hand all the waters thereof. Lightning and thunder, wind and rain delight to due his bidding for the Father loves him and has given all things into his hand.

By God's choosing, salvation has been given into the hands of the Son and the Son has perfected forever them that are sanctified. "For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." It is the Son's righteousness that robes his people. It is the Son's justifying death that declares them innocent. By his command the stony heart melts and the neck once stiff submits, the high-minded are brought low and he who once persecuted now praises. It is the Son who sits at the right-hand of the Father to make intercession for those he reconciled. This is he of whom the Father says, "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him." (John 17: 1-3, He. 10: 14, II Cor. 5:21, Matt. 3: 17)

There has never been nor ever will be any love greater than the love of holy God for his only Son. How to comprehend love that is infinite, holy,
righteous, and perfect!
